All about Smartmates
The company has set itself the goal of becoming the dominant Internet matchmaking site in the UK for intelligent adults of all ages. Let’s make it clear that we are NOT elitist, and you certainly don’t have to have been to college (although that’s very common amongst our membership) to be considered ‘smart’. We simply do not wish to encourage people to join leaving important details missing and treating it as “a bit of a laugh”. There are plenty of other sites where that is the norm – that will not be the case on Smartmates.
Here we insist that all dating profiles are completed properly and with enough info to help members decide whether to contact that person or not. This gets rid of most time-wasters as they just can't be bothered. This is GREAT. We have attracted smart people - not people who've only filled out half a profile when the bars have closed! We intend to keep up that standard so that members can make valued judgements.
Quality - not quantity is what we're after. Filling in a basic profile can take less than 10 minutes and investing that amount of time to complete it fully will vastly increase your chance of finding exactly who you want - for whatever it is you BOTH want, not some half-baked fantasy. That's the smart way to find a great match - for whatever takes your fancy!
